However, if there is one thing that people associate the town with, it is their very own heraldry. A phenomenon first developed in the High Middle Ages, the heraldry of Augsburg is a pure representation of the city and those who call it home. It can be traced back to nearly 800 years ago. However, over time, the coat of arms has evolved.
